It is one thing to endorse someone, and quite another to push the narrative by telling, not suggesting who they should vote for.
At least we have the check and balance of electing our sheriff and not being appointed. I have been a police officer for 37 years, 34 years with the Warsaw City Police Department (retired) and three years with the United States Army military police corps (honorable discharge). I have worked side by side with three of the four candidates for sheriff.
All four of these candidates are skilled law enforcement officers. Anyone who knows me knows that I am pro police and pro American. I have done my time, walked the walk and deserve the right to call these men my brothers, along with every law enforcement officer in this nation.
I would like for you to please consider your vote for our current incumbent sheriff, Rocky Goshert. I’ve known the Goshert family my entire life. I know for a fact that Rocky is an honest man of faith, integrity and principle. A hometown family man who has coached our youth for over 20 years, a dedicated law enforcement officer for over 30 years, a dedicated state police veteran (retired) and a proven and experienced leader of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
It is apparent that at least one of our candidates has developed the narrative of a need for change, due to a so-called lack of cooperation between the sheriff’s department and other law enforcement agencies. Voters must realize this is NOT REALITY. Facts from the April 6 Times-Union, show an impressive 837 assists with other law enforcement agencies and specifically 340 to the Warsaw Police Department.
I have worked with some of the best law enforcement officers in the state. My dedication to the Warsaw Police Department will never change. My career was with the Warsaw Police Department and the men and women of WPD will always be my family. Law enforcement has changed and it will take good leadership to keep us on track. Sheriff Rocky Goshert is running on his track record of being a dedicated law enforcement leader and public servant and not the voice of a false narrative.
God bless ALL of our law enforcement family. God bless our United States of America. The “Thin Blue Line” is as strong as ever.
