SYRACUSE — Marie “Tiger” Somers, 82, Syracuse, passed away April 20, 2018, at Goshen Hospital.

She was born March 1, 1936, in Loyal, Wis., to Peter and Viola Roll Johannsen. On July 14, 1956, in Fort Wayne, she married Dan Somers, who survives. They were married for 61 years.

She worked for Holiday Rambler, Wakarusa, and Rinker Boat, Syracuse, where she retired. She lived in Fort Wayne before moving to Syracuse, where they owned and operated Tigers Miniature Golf Course.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Somers, Syracuse; a daughter, Tammy Serafini, Cromwell; a brother, Tom (Linda) Johannsen; a sister, Betty (Jim) Davis; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Somers; grandchildren: Alicia (Randy) Catron, Forest (Alisha) Somers, Heather (Josh) Tooley, Sasha Somers (partner John Toschlog) and Brenden Somers; great-grandchildren: Brooke, Hunter, Savahanna, Carter, Ryker, Kaidan, Autumn, Gabriel and Jaxon; and her beloved dog Toto.

She was preceded by her son, Danny Somers, in 2017.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Brad Cox officiating.

Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

A celebration of Tiger’s life is planned for noon Saturday, July 14, at Syracuse Lakeside Park.
