Lakeland Youth Center To Host 6th Annual Kids First Auction

SYRACUSE – Lakeland Youth Center, Syracuse, is planning its sixth annual Kids First Auction.

The event will be held Friday with a silent auction beginning at 6 p.m. and a live auction at 7:30 p.m.

The auction will be at the Owl’s Nest event center, just north of North Webster, west of the intersection of Ind. 13 and CR 800N.

Food and a cash bar will be available. Travel is the theme of the event and patrons are asked to wear “travel attire.”

All proceeds from the event will be used to fund Lakeland Youth Center programs and activities.

Items for auction will include a “Play Like A Champion Today” sign autographed by legendary Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz.

Also, Cubs tickets and a  Cubs World Series framed memorabilia, a New Orleans Saints jersey signed by Drew Brees and a Colts helmet signed by the team will be auctioned.

Travel-themed items include Jamaica, British Columbia, Las Vegas and Nashville trips.

Local leisure-themed items include a  Lilly Pad cruise, dinner at Westmain Tavern and a private flying session with Dan Harstine, Warsaw.

Many more items will be included in the silent and live auctions.

The mission statement of Lakeland Youth Center is “Striving to inspire, energize and encourage the youth of our community to be social, recreational and educationally successful.”

Event sponsors include Douglas and Jeannine Shrock, Lippert, Bridgeworks Foundation, Main Channel Marina, Polar Kraft, Travel Star Products, Director’s Showcase International, Duro Green, The Hamman Team (Century 21 Bradley), Pro Wake, Mike Tiltges, Wawasee Boat Company, Coral Amspaugh-Topolski Interiors, Westmain Tavern, Tranter Graphics, Huntington Street Bar & Grill, Buyrite, Michael Gouloff and Sleepy Owl.
