On Dec. 10, Warsaw Police Department officer Gordon Allen responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Time Out Inn, West Lake Street, Warsaw. He spoke with a man who said he had been at the bar and had $3,000 on him. He went out to the parking lot to put a woman’s purse in a vehicle and several men followed him outside.
One of the men, who had long dreadlocks – later identified as Gamble – approached him and asked for a cigarette lighter. The victim gave Gamble a lighter and put the purse inside the vehicle. The victim then approached Gamble for his lighter and Gamble produced a black semi-automatic handgun and placed it against the victim’s right temple.
The victim asked Gamble if he was going to shoot him and he began to fight to get away. Two more men came to assist and the victim was punched in the head and believed he was hit in the right cheek with the handgun. The victim fell to the ground and covered up from being hit.
The subjects then stole his cell phone and wallet containing the $3,000. They then left in a dark-colored minivan.
Allen saw the victim had cuts and swelling on the right side of his cheek bone area, and blood was dripping down the right side of his face. The victim reported he was in extreme pain.
WPD officer Paul Heaton went to the business and obtained the surveillance video for Dec. 10. On the video, Heaton saw the victim leaving the establishment, followed by five men, with one having dreadlocks. Heaton identified the man with dreadlocks as Gamble, who matched the description given by the victim
