Whitko Names Top Students

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko High School has announced its 2018 valedictorian as Maren Theann Lehman and salutatorian as Angelica Marie Moyer.

Maren Theann Lehman, the daughter of Angela and Craig Swanson and Christopher and Catherine Lehman, is the valedictorian.

The South Whitley resident plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and pursue a double major in philanthropy and business management. Her ambition is to become an executive director of a Community Foundation so that she may one day give back to her community in the way her community has given to her.

Her activities include PHISH (Philanthropic Ideas, Strategies and Heart), HANDS (Helping Achieve New Directions though Students), National Honor Society, South Whitley Main Street Committee, Broad Based Planning Committee, Campus Life, Leadership Whitley County, Whitko Summer Lunch Program activity director volunteer and cheerleading.

Salutatorian is Angelica Marie Moyer, daughter of Chris and Faith Moyer, Larwill.

She plans to attend Huntington University to study youth ministry and social work..

Her activities include chamber ensemble, cross country, FCCLA, National Honor Society, Youth For Christ (as a student and volunteer) and church youth group.

Graduation at Whitko is June 8.
