NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester University Department of Exercise Science and Athletic Training, along with the College of Business, invites local children to participate in the Manchester University Youth Triathlon.

The kindergarten through fifth grade triathlon will be at Manchester University on May 12. The event will begin at 1 p.m. It’s free of charge to advocate for the fight against childhood obesity and to promote physical fitness. Each child will get a free snack, shirt and medal. A parent or legal guardian must accompany all participants.

Kindergarten and first graders will bike one lap and run 1/4 of a mile. Second and third graders will bike two laps and run 1/2 of a mile. Fourth and fifth graders will bike three laps and run 3/4 of a mile.
