Five Arrested From Two Investigations At Same Place

NAPPANEE – Five people were arrested over the weekend after two investigations including the same Nappanee residence.

On Friday, the Nappanee Police Department, in coordination with Elkhart County Emergency Services Unit, Goshen Emergency Response Team, and Elkhart County Intelligence and Covert Enforcement Unit, served a search warrant at 779 Park Drive, Nappanee., according to a news release from the NPD.

After a search of the residence, the homeowner, Thomas Slavey, was arrested and taken to the Elkhart County Security Center, where he is being held for possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a look-alike substance, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of a legend drug.

A second man at the residence, William Swango, was arrested for possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance.

Additional information was received Sunday involving the same residence. Several individuals were seen removing property from the home.

A subsequent search warrant was served in Millwood Acres in Etna Green, where some the stolen property was found.

Jason Clevenger was arrested for burglary, theft and possession of paraphernalia; and Tabitha Morningstar and Travis Cassel were arrested for burglary and theft. All three were taken to the Elkhart County Security Center, the news release states.
