YMCA Corporate Challenge April 26-29
The YMCA’s Corporate Challenge, for the businesses of Kosciusko County, will take place April 26-29. Registration closes Thursday.
The event is offered to increase engagement in health and fitness activities, to build employee pride and dedication, and to develop community spirit among co-workers. The 16 competitions include tug-of-war, corn hole, kickball, 5K walk/run and basketball. A new event this year is badminton.
Participants to date include Applied Thermal Technologies, DePuy Synthes, Lake City Bank, OrthoPediatrics and Warsaw Community Schools.
The opening ceremonies and the first events of the Corporate Challenge will take place the evening of April 26. Other events are scheduled for the evening April 27 and all day April 28 and 29. An awards program will follow the last event on the 29th.

Benefit Pork Barbecue Dinner Saturday
WINONA LAKE – A benefit pulled pork barbecue dinner will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Winona Lake Senior Center, 1590 Park Ave.
The menu will consist of a pulled pork sandwich, cheesy hashed brown potatoes, baked beans, salad, dessert and drinks for a $10 adult minimum donation.
Proceeds will benefit Gary Price, who has had heart trouble for several years, suffered a stroke and undergone many procedures. He has reached the financial limits of his health insurance.
Lions Fish, Tenderloin Fry Is Saturday
CLAYPOOL — Saturday will be the last fry of the winter at the Claypool Lions building on Railroad Street.
It will start at 12:30 p.m. and continue to 4:30 p.m. or until sold out. Fish will sell for $9 a pound and tenderloin for $7 a pound. Pints of homemade baked beans, tartar sauce, and potato and macaroni salads will be $3. Penguin Point’s coleslaw will be available in pints as well.
Walnut Creek Church youth will be selling baked goods.
All proceeds will support the many community projects the Lions support.
The next Lions fry will be Sept. 15.
