Valley’s Sydney Howard Pitches Complete Game

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley defeated Plymouth 7-4 in varsity softball action on Friday.

Sydney Howard pitched a complete game for the Lady Vikings (1-2). She struck out seven Lady Pilgrims (2-2) and gave up three earned runs.

Valley had 12 hits as a team and three doubles. 

Ally Betten had three hits for Valley and drove in a teammate. Alex Gomez led all Lady Viking batters with two RBIs. 

Howard had two hits, including a double, and scored on two occasions.

Whitko Softball Routs Columbia City

COLUMBIA CITY – The Whitko varsity softball team won 9-4 over Columbia City Friday night in a nonconference matchup.

Ellie Snep got the win inside the circle and had two hits at the plate.

Lexi Hall led the Lady Wildcats  (4-1) with four hits. Emmy Duggins had three hits, including a triple. Anna Ousley tallied two hits for Whitko.

The Lady Wildcats are back in action tonight as they host Carroll in the team’s first home game of the season.

Whitko Falls To Heritage

MONROEVILLE – On Saturday, Whitko varsity baseball fell 13-3 to Heritage in a nonconference contest.

Mason Lehman and Zakk Neer each had two hits for the Wildcats (1-3) at the plate.

Evan Wilson, Neck Meadows and Clayton Ebbinghouse all had a hit for Whitko. Kyle Knutson, Wilson and Meadows tallied an RBI each.

Whitko travels to West Noble tonight. First pitch is at 5:30 p.m.

Davis Highlights Squire T&F At Busco Invite

CHURUBUSCO – The Manchester boys track and field team competed at the Busco Invitational on Saturday.

The Squires finished sixth with a score of 51.50. Host Churubusco won the event with 121 points.

Isaiah Davis tallied the only first-place result for Manchester at the meet. He finished first in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 10 inches.

Benjamin Reichenbach tallied a third-place nod in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:13.60. Bennett Jackson finished just behind his teammate in fourth (2:14.40).

Trey Clark crossed the finish line in 25.60 seconds in the 200-meter dash, ending in fourth place. Remington Trick finished sixth in the 400-meter dash.

Gavin Ream launched the discus 113 feet, 10 inches for a spot in sixth.

The 4x800-meter relay tallied third for Manchester. The 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays each ended in sixth place.

The Squires travel to Caston tonight to compete against the Comets and North Miami.

Warsaw Takes On Lafayette Jeff Showcase

LAFAYETTE – The Warsaw boys track and field team participated in the Lafayette Jefferson Showcase on Friday night.

The 4x400-meter relay of Aden Wade, Keagan Larsh, Connor Lennox and Tanner Stiver finished fifth for the Tigers.

Mason Martz, Alijah Wade, Aden Wade and Larsh placed ninth in the 4x100-meter relay.

Warsaw travels to Syracuse on Thursday to compete against Wawasee and Northridge.



Valley Competes At Marquette Catholic Invite

MICHIGAN CITY – Tippecanoe Valley boys golf competed at the Marquette Catholic Invitational on Saturday. The Vikings had a team score of 439 and finished 12th out of  15 teams.

Chesterton led all teams with a 308. Chesterton’s Mitch Davis shot a 73 to finish first.

Cade Brouyette led Valley with an 85. Bryce Madeford shot a 111. Carter Kistler tallied a 116 and Mason Purvis finished with a 127.

Billy Gillman shot a 114 for the Vikings.

Valley is back in action tonight as it hosts Knox at 5:30 p.m.



Warsaw JV Golf Finishes Second At Rochester Invite

ROCHESTER – The Warsaw boys junior varsity golf team finished second out of 10 at the Rochester JV Invitational on Saturday.

At the Round Barn Golf Course, the Tigers shot a 370 to finish behind NorthWood, which had a team score of 361.

Tucker Carlile tied for first with a score of 85, but lost the medalist honors in a playoff. Brian Elliott had an 88 for Warsaw.

Noah Pequignot had a 97, Mason Whitaker had a 108 and Bryce Welk rounded out the Tigers with a 129.
