County Jail Bookings

The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:

• 7:07 a.m. Friday – Devin James Sapp, 28, of 111 N. Huntington St., Apt. B, Syracuse, arrested for public intoxication. Bond: $400

• 10:31 a.m. Friday – Johnathan Michael Stephan, 28, of 1830 Rieder St., Warsaw, arrested for failure to appear. Bond: $450.

• 2:06 p.m. Friday – Vince Roger Wright, 36, of 511 Clinic St., Warsaw, arrested on a warrant in a civil matter. Bond: $800.

• 2:51 p.m. Friday – Kristi Jo Pontius, 50, of 793 Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw, arrested for a probation violation – felony. Bond: $250.

• 3:27 p.m. Friday – Allen John Werensly, 54, Tippecanoe, arrested for contempt of court. No bond.

• 5:20 p.m. Friday – Robert Joseph Schill, 27, of 2441 W. CR 250S, #94, Warsaw, arrested for domestic battery. Bond: $5,000.

• 7:45 p.m. Friday – Autumn Nicole Miller, 30, Columbia City, arrested for theft. Bond: $600.



Personal Injury Accident

• 4:15 a.m. Friday – South Ind. 15, north of Dawn Drive, Silver Lake. Fatigued driver overcorrected twice before rolling vehicle. Driver: Daniel M. Schrameck, 21, La Fontaine. Injury: Schrameck sustained lacerations to his left arm, but declined treatment at the scene. Damage: $10,000-$25,000. Winona Lake Police Department investigated.



Property Damage Accidents

• 8:41 p.m. Thursday – West CR 600N, west of North CR 200W, Leesburg. Car hit deer. Driver: Scott D. Mehlberg, 44, West CR 600N, Leesburg. Damage $2,500-$5,000. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.

• 3:08 a.m. Friday – West Boston Street, 30 feet south of North Main Street, Syracuse. Car-Syracuse Police Department vehicle collision. Drivers: Michael D. Mench, 36, Turkey Creek Drive, Milford; Michael J. Bumbaugh, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Mench was arrested on multiple charges. Damage: $5,000-$10,000. KCSD.

• 3:11 a.m. Friday – East Baltimore Street, Syracuse. Syracuse Police Department vehicle hit decorative railroad tie in a residential yard on East Baltimore Street, Syracuse, while in pursuit. Driver: Gary Clark, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. KCSD.

• 3:08 a.m. Thursday – A person was arrested for driving while suspended in the 2400 block of North CR 500W, Warsaw. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.

• 3:11 a.m. Friday – A vehicle drove through a privacy fence in the 200 block of East Baltimore Street, Syracuse. KCSD.

• 4:19 a.m. Friday – An incident with an intoxicated person was reported in the 1900 block of West Lake Street, Warsaw. Warsaw Police Department investigated.

• 9:21 a.m. Friday – A person was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in the 1800 block of Rieder Street, Warsaw. WPD.

• 10:26 a.m. Friday – A theft was reported in the 11500 block of Enchanted Forest Lane, Cromwell. No loss estimate available. KCSD.
