He served his country in the United States Army from February 1952 to January 1954 and was a Corporal (T4) in the 22nd Infantry.
He was married to Helen Swoverland on Dec. 22, 1950, in Warsaw. She died Sept. 9, 2017. He was a Warsaw resident until 1980 when he retired to Danbury, Wis., and then returned to Warsaw in early 2018.
Private services will be conducted at a later date. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is entrusted with arrangements.
