Lady Tigers Track & Field Defeat Goshen, Northridge

MIDDLEBURY – The Warsaw girls track and field team competed against Goshen and Northridge on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers defeated the Lady RedHawks 110-22 and won 96-36 over the Lady Raiders. Northridge won 83.50-48.50 over Goshen.

Maykayla Clampit won the 100-meter sprint for Warsaw. She ran a 13.04 in the race. Abbi Curtis finished third in the event.

Adree Beckham had a first-place finish in the mile race, crossing the line in 5:45.35. Maygan Bellamy tallied first in the 400-meter dash (1:02.85). 

In the 800-meter event, the Lady Tigers swept the top three placings. Emma Bohnenkamper finished first (2:26.89), followed by Mia Beckham (2:28.22) and Remi Beckham (2:29.68).

Aieze Day and Morgan Bruner finished first and second, respectively, in the high jump event. Shunterra Davis earned first in the long jump for the Lady Tigers.

Lynae Dawson won the discus event and Passion Gardner received first in the shot put throw. Caitlin Kehler finished first in the pole vault.

The 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800-meter relays all finished first for Warsaw.

On Friday, the Lady Tigers will compete at the Flashes Showcase at Franklin Central and at the Bronchos Sprinters Showcase held at West Lafayette.

Lady Squires Win Season Opener

NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester girls tennis team won 4-1 over Columbia City Wednesday night.

All three singles and No. 2 doubles were victorious for the Lady Squires.

Junior Kelsey Eichenauer won 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match. Freshman Halle Briner won both sets for Manchester in her varsity career opener.

Senior Lydia Little began her last campaign with a victory in the No. 3 singles position. The No. 2 doubles pair of Erika Kendall and Lauren Metzger won 6-0, 6-3.

Manchester hosts Wabash tonight at 5 p.m.

Whitko Girls Tennis Outlasts Maconaquah

SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko Lady Wildcats claimed their first tennis conference victory of the year. Whitko won 4-1 over Maconaquah on Wednesday.

Three of the five matches were decided in three sets, with the Lady Wildcats winning all three.

Senior Jackie Werstler won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles for Whitko. Junior Kayla Schipper won at No. 3 singles in three sets; 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.

Both doubles teams lost the first set for the Lady Wildcats, but won the next two sets to win the match.

Whitko will play at Northfield tonight in a conference matchup that begins at 5 p.m.

Snep Leads Whitko Softball Over West Noble

LIGONIER – The hits started early and often for the Whitko softball team on Wednesday as they won 12-1 over West Noble.

Ellie Snep led the Lady Wildcats (3-1) in the circle, as she struck out 11 Lady Charger (1-4) batters. Snep had two hits and two RBI’s.

Reannon Hopkins was a home run shy of the cycle. She had a single, double and triple with three RBI’s. Anna Ousley added two hits and two RBI’s in the contest.

Shy Bradley earned an inside the park home run and had two RBI’s. Emmy Duggins had three hits in the nonconference matchup.

Whitko is back on the diamond on Friday at Columbia City.

Warsaw’s Late Rally Falls Short At Carroll

HUNTERTOWN – The Warsaw softball team fell short to Carroll on Wednesday, falling 8-7 in the nonconference game.

The Lady Tigers (1-3) were able to outhit the Lady Chargers (1-2) 11-9, but allowed four errors on defense that helped Carroll on offense.

Warsaw scored the game’s first two runs, but allowed two in the bottom of the first inning to even the score.

Carroll added four runs in the bottom of the third and pushed the lead to 6-3 and added two insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The Lady Tigers added a run in the top of the seventh, but their comeback fell short.

Courtney Chookie took the loss for Warsaw as she pitched six innings and struck out three batters. 

Saylor Bradley and Lindsey Bradley tallied three hits each in the game. Madison Lane ripped two hits for the Lady Tigers.

Warsaw visits South Bend Washington on Saturday for a 10 a.m. contest.

Manchester Baseball Defeats Taylor

TAYLOR – The Manchester baseball team won 15-4 over Taylor on Wednesday.

Hayes Sturtsman had the victory while on the mound and tallied two hits for the Squires (1-0). 

Trey McNall belted a three-run home run in the top of the fith inning and finished with five RBI’s. Mason Roberts added two hits and two RBI’s to help the cause.

Manchester hosts Eastern on Friday night.



Manchester Wins First Golf Match Of Season

WABASH – The Manchester boys golf team won 181-195 on Wednesday against Wabash, picking up the team’s first win of the season.

Harley Kruschwitz led Manchester with a 41 and Nathan Self followed with a 45.

Konrad Borgmann shot a 46 and Logan Parrett tallied a 49. Klayton Hendrix and Mathias McLaughlin finished with a 50 and 53, respectively.

The Squires are back on the course on Saturday at the Warsaw Invitational. The Invite begins at 10 a.m. at Stonehenge Golf Club.



Triton Boys Golf Defeats Bremen, LaVille 

PLYMOUTH – The Triton boys golf team defeated LaVille and Bremen on Wednesday.

The Trojans shot a 166 as a team, compared to LaVille’s 185 and Bremen’s 198.

Chase Butler tallied a 40 for Triton and had the best score at the match. Brock Watkins had a 41 and Beau Hepler shot a 42.

Isaac Wall and Keegan Westafer both had a 43 for the Trojans.

Triton will be back in action tonight at Culver Community. Tee time is slated for 4:30 p.m.
