Delp Shoots 78, Leads Warsaw Golf In Season Opener
PERU – The Warsaw boys golf team competed on Saturday in the Hall of Fame Classic at Rock Hollow Golf Club. The Tigers finished seventh with a 349 team score.
Luke Delp led the Tigers with a 78, tying for fourth place at the event.
Helping the cause for Warsaw were Sam Yeager, Chase Byron, Tommy Meier and Zach LaLonde.
Carmel, the 2017 state runner-up won the event with a 310.
The Tigers will be back on the course today competing against Northridge and Mishawaka Marian at Elcona Country Club in Elkhart. The match begins at 5 p.m.
Whitko Girls Tennis Loses To West Noble
SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko girls tennis team fell 4-1 to West Noble Monday night in the season opener.
Leading the Lady Wildcats was Kayla Schipper, who won at No. 3 singles. She won 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets to secure the lone victory for the team.
Lilly Owsley won 8-3 for the junior varsity squad.
Whitko is back in action on Wednesday at home, playing against conference foe Maconaquah. First match is set for 5 p.m.
