Last Monday Euchre Club

The Last Monday Euchre Club met at the Warsaw Senior Center on Sept. 25.

High winner was Mary Wolford; most lones were Linda Hatfield, Maxine Johnson, Pat Doyle, Mary Lou Laurino and Peggy Wilson; and low was Bonnie Jagodzinki.

The next meeting will be 12:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Warsaw Senior Center.



Tuesday Night Bridge Group

On Sept. 26 the group had seven tables, with the following winners: Joyce Metz, Janet Petro, Charlie Ker, Karyl Smith, Joyce Latta, Joan Kizer, Elim Smith and Jan Chiddister.

Janet and John Wagley are hostess and host for October.



Singles Meeting Friends

Kendra and Pat were welcomed to Wednesday’s brief meeting. They stayed after the meeting to learn to play euchre.

Discussions included the annual Beaman Home bingo fundraiser Oct. 19 at Central Park. Members were reminded to get tickets early as the event sold out last year.

Dates for the group’s Christmas party were discussed and will be finalized soon.

Susanne’s daughter and granddaughter hosted a celebration Thursday in honor of the sale of her lake home. Everyone brought a dish to share to go along with hot dogs cooked on the fire and coney sauce. They also enjoyed a bonfire by the lake.

The group meets Wednesdays at the deli at Martin’s Super Market. The meeting begins at 7 p.m., or come at 6:30 and pick up some dinner to eat with friends.







Frances Slocum Chapter, INDAR

Wabash County Frances Slocum Chapter, Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Grandstaff Hentgen activity room, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash.

TJ Honeycutt, collections assistant at t he Wabash County Museum, will speak on “History of Memorial Hall.”

Prospective members and guests are welcome to attend.

DAR membership is open to any woman 18 and older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. Those having questions about their family history lineage information may contact www.dar.org, Linda Thompson at 260-563-4661 or Barbara Amiss at 260-982-4376.



Four Seasons Ladies Bridge

The Four Seasons Ladies Bridge met Wednesday at the Great Wall.  

Winners were Liz Frazzetta, Maxine Harris, Barb Calhan and Virginia Horn.



Agnes Pruyn Chapman DAR

Agnes Pruyn Chapman DAR met Tuesday at Richards Restaurant, Warsaw, with 13 members, one prospective member and a transfer member.

Following lunch, Regent Kathy Gawthrop introduced the speaker, Sarah Siders, and her cousin, Sissy Mongosa. They are from the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana, which has its headquarters in Peru. Sarah and Sissy brought examples of Miami clothing and accessories and shared an interesting and enlightening history of the Miami.

Kathy read the president general's message and Janet Kirkpatrick gave the national defense report on rebuilding the military. Paulene Holderman gave a report on Constitution Week. Janice Cox presented a Constitution proclamation at a recent City Council meeting, where it was signed.

Kathy handed out Halloween bags and instructions for "Operation Treat a Soldier." These are to be filled and returned to the Warsaw library, the Outdoor Living Center or the Vein Center by Wednesday.

It was announced that member Helen Joan Kindle died in Wisconsin on Sept. 7.

The VA hospital has a need for other items besides puzzles. They are asking for model car kits, acrylic paints, watercolor kits, paintbrushes, sketch books, watercolor paper, bird house kits, small mosaic tiles, holiday craft kits and ceramics to paint. Any donated items should be brought to the November meeting.

The next meeting will be at noon Oct. 21 at the Columbia City library. Members should meet across from Hardee's at 11 a.m. to carpool. Elaine Sholty, DAR state recording secretary, will portray Caroline Scott Harrison and will wear one of the dresses on display at the Harrison DAR house in Indianapolis.

Membership in Daughters of the American Revolution is open to any woman who had an ancestor who fought in or aided the patriot cause during the American Revolution. Contact Kathy Gawthrop at 260-982-7055 with any questions.



Pizza King Bridge

Pizza King Bridge met Thursday with Mary Eherenman as  hostess.

Winners were Joan Kizer and Ann Thallemer.



North Webster Community Center SPEC

NORTH WEBSTER — Bridge results from the Senior Prime Enrichment Center have been announced.

 Tuesday, Suze Wilt was first and Mike Wyrick was second.

Thursday, Wilt was first and Jan Hodson was second.
