Lady Squires Win Conference Soccer Game Over Peru
NORTH MANCHESTER – Julie Dalsager scored twice for Manchester in its 4-0 Three Rivers Conference girls soccer win over Peru Wednesday evening.
Lex Donathan opened the scoring for the Lady Squires, then Dalsager scored her two goals off assists from Carsyn Howard and Emma Garriott. Claudia Ramos scored the last goal, assisted by Dalsager.
The Manchester defense allowed just two shots to Peru. Goalkeeper Kiera Stacy had the shutout for the Lady Squires.
Manchester (10-4-1 overall, 5-1 TRC) closes out the regular season Saturday, hosting South Adams in a non-conference match. The two teams then play again at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the 1A Fort Wayne Blackhawk Sectional.
Squire Tennis Shut Out In Sectional Opener
PERU – Manchester’s boys tennis season ended at the Peru Sectional Wednesday with a 5-0 loss to the host Tigers.
The Squires got off to a good start, taking early leads on three courts.
“I am super proud of our focus and composure starting the match tonight. Peru is a team we have not beat in some time and we were able to land the first punches,” said Manchester coach Eric Screeton.
“At 30 minutes into the evening, we were up 4-3 at No. 1 singles, 5-3 at No. 2 doubles, and 3-3 at No. 1 doubles, but we couldn’t finish any of those sets.”
Manchester finished its season with an 8-6 record.

DENVER – Manchester’s Isaiah Davis and Noah Beck each scored goals in the Squires’ 3-2 Three Rivers Conference boys soccer loss at North Miami Wednesday night.
Nathan Self assisted on both goals for the Squires.
The Squires (11-3-1 overall, 5-1 TRC) play their regular season finale Saturday, hosting South Adams.
Lady Wildcats Fall
COLUMBIA CITY – Breanna Keirn scored the only goal for Whitko in its 5-1 non-conference girls soccer loss at Columbia City Wednesday.
Kaylee Gaff had 11 saves for the Lady Wildcats (2-14) in their regular season finale.
Whitko opens play in the 1A Fort Wayne Blackhawk Sectional at 5 p.m. Tuesday against Woodlan.
Lady Pilgrims Beat Triton
BOURBON – Plymouth’s volleyball team earned a 25-10, 25-13, 25-19 win over host Triton in the Trojan Trench Thursday night.
Nicole Sechrist had five kills and two blocks for the Lady Trojans. Hannah Wanemacher had 15 assists and Emma Ross eight digs in the match.
The junior varsity match was won by Plymouth, 25-8, 25-7 over Triton.
Triton will play in the Dunes Tournament in Rolling Prairie Saturday.
