Classical Guitar Recital At Good Shepherd

WINONA LAKE — Professor Scott Workman will give a classical guitar recital at 7 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Good Shepherd.

There is no admission fee, and the recital is open to the public.

The church is at 708 College Ave., Winona Lake. For more information, call 574-267-7595.



First Brethren Celebrating 125 Years

First Brethren Church is planning a variety of activities for its 125 birthday celebration on Sunday.

Continental breakfast is planned for 9 a.m., followed by the worship service at 10 a.m. with Steven Cole, executive director of the Brethren Church.

An open house is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature door prizes donated by more than 30 area businesses, including a six-month membership to the YMCA and several $25 gift cards to area restaurants.

The church is at 1318 E. Center St., Warsaw.



Paradise Road Will Give Concert Sunday

NORTH WEBSTER — Paradise Road will present a concert at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at North Webster Church of the Brethren.

The church is at 7281 E. CR 600N, North Webster.



Rummage, Bake Sale Will Aid Missions

CLAYPOOL — The 20th annual rummage and bake sale of Claypool United Methodist Women is planned for Saturday.

The sale will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Claypool United Methodist Church, corner of Section and Church streets.

From 1 to 2 p.m., attendees can fill a provided bag with items from the sale for $2.

All proceeds will be used for missions projects.



Chili/Potato Soup Supper Planned Saturday

PIERCETON — Pierceton United Methodist Church will host a chili/potato soup supper with sandwich from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.   

Everyone is welcome. Donations will be accepted for the mission of the church.  

Pierceton United Methodist Church is handicapped- accessible, with parking in the back.



World Communion Sunday This Weekend

NORTH MANCHESTER — A special celebration is planned Sunday at North Manchester Congregational Christian Church for World Communion Sunday

The interactive worship is designed to help people understand why Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God. Each person will receive a hand-crocheted lamb as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice.  

Open communion will be shared at the 9 or 10:30 a.m. services. A brunch is planned at 10 a.m. for all.

Special music is planned for both services. JUMP time for kids is planned during the second service.

Everyone is welcome. The church is at 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester. For more information, call 260-982-2882.



Church Pay-Off Celebration Is Sunday

PIERCETON — Area churches are invited to a payoff celebration at Victory Rock church.

A mortgage-burning celebration and dinner will follow the 11 a.m. service Sunday. Also that day, the church will honor members who have died. Pastor Danny Hess from Virginia will lead the service.

Special services continue at 7 p.m. each day through Sunday:

Today — Hess will be the speaker.

Friday — Pastor William and Lora Whitaker will be honored. The Griffith family will sing and Hess will be the speaker.

Saturday — Pastor Rick and Martha Johnson will be honored. The Griffith family will sing and Hess will  be the speaker.

The church is 5 miles south of Pierceton on Ind. 13.
