American Association Of University Women
The Warsaw branch of American Association of University Women met at the home of Ruth Jones on Sept. 13 with Pam Chastain presiding.
Roll call for the 17 members present was to name the person, living or dead, with whom you would like to have a conversation. Members chose an eclectic group, from Martha Washington to Hillary Clinton.
Cindy Nolton gave the treasurer's report and a proposed budget, which will be voted on in October.
Pam asked members to be thinking about a new fundraiser for scholarship funds, since the group will no longer have a yard sale.
Marsha Martin brought her award-winning therapy dog, Jaiden, and discussed how Jaiden provides therapy at nursing homes and the hospital. Everyone enjoyed learning about how Jaiden interacts with patients and brightens their day.
AAUW will meet again Oct. 16. Membership is open to graduates with an associate degree or equivalent or higher degree from an accredited institution.

Lamba Chi Omega
Lambda Chi Omega sorority will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Pizza Hut near Kmart.
Sandy Nellans and Liz Surface will be the hostesses.
Four Seasons Ladies Bridge
The Four Seasons Ladies Bridge club met Wednesday.
Winners were Peg Zimmerman, Helen Miller, Beth Huffer and Sondra Dicken. Hostess was Liz Frazzetta.
Tuesday Night Bridge Group
The group started its bridge play on Tuesdays this week; some members came earlier to eat.
There were six tables, with Janet Wagley, John Wagley, Jean Cowan, Nancy Dalton, Andy Overmeyer, Tom Anderson and Phil Gutman the winners.
The Wagleys were hostess and host.
Kosciusko County Retired Teachers
The Kosciusko County Retired teachers met Sept. 12 for lunch, business meeting and program at Miller’s Senior Living.
Deb Satterely and Julie Martin called the group to order. Dorothy Sweeney provided the music. Sally Williams, the IRTA representative, shared new products and benefits with the group.
“Career Center Classes” was the program provided by Ronna Kawsky, director, Area Career Center. Career area classes in technology, educational professions, cosmetology, culinary, construction and criminal justice are offered, with current graduation rates at 92 percent for Warsaw, Tippecanoe Valley and Whitko combined.
Results from State Sen. Ryan Mishler for the 2017 Legislative Survey were shared.
Gift card winner was Sandra Kunce. Door prizes went to Betty Sanders, Connie Stravoupolis and Dave Whaley.
The fall workshop will be Oct. 9 at Das Dutchman Essenhaus. Members are reminded of the group’s website: kcrteachers.org.
Those who have volunteer hours should turn them in to Sally Welborn or Brenda Houtz in December.
Singles Meeting Friends
There were 13 people at Wednesday’s meeting, with Dave coming from Rochester.
Dave shared his past and present travels.
Ray said his winter home has considerable damage but he’s not sure of the full extent. He plans to leave in a month to check it out for himself, but in the meantime people are working on repairs for him.
Many enjoyed euchre following the meeting.
The group meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Martin's Super Market.
Winona Literary Club
The 114-year-old Winona Literary Club had its first fall meeting Wednesday at the Robinhood Community Center, with 33 members and guests present.
The group was entertained and informed by Dr. Don DeYoung of Grace College. His subject was "The Moon, Our Nearest Neighbor."
A short business meeting was followed by light refreshments.
The next meeting will be Oct. 4.
Pizza King Bridge
Pizza King bridge met Thursday with June Stealy as hostess.
Winners were Rosalie Spear, Elaine Tripp and Ann Thallemer.
North Webster Community Center SPEC
NORTH?WEBSTER — Bridge winners from the Senior Prime Enrichment Center have been announced.
On Sept. 19, Mike Wyrick was first and Suze Wilt was second.
On Sept. 21, Mike Wyrick was first and Wanda Wyrick was second.
