By Staff Report-

CULVER – Trailing by 15 points after three quarters, it would have been easy for Triton to slip back in to the funk of the last several football seasons.

Instead, the Trojans mounted a comeback, forced overtime, held Culver Community scoreless on its possession, then won 27-21 on Ethan Berry’s 10-yard run.

The win put Triton in a first-place tie with Pioneer and Knox at 3-0 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.

“The defense really stepped up, I was pleased with their effort,” Trojan coach Ron Brown said. “They didn’t hang their heads when things were tough.”

Max Slusser got Triton on the scoreboard with an eight-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter. Quarterback James “Bo” Snyder had two short touchdown runs in the fourth quarter, and Slusser knotted the game up with a two-point conversion.

Now 4-1 overall, Triton faces defending HNAC champion Pioneer in Royal Center Friday. The Panthers , have yet to yield a point this season.
