Tony Elliott Foundation Hosting Golf Outing

The Tony Elliott Foundation announces a charity golf scramble Monday at  Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, Leesburg.

The cost to enter is $400 per foursome and will include the scramble, lunch, and beverage cart.  Awards will be given for first, second and third place. The event also includes a clubhouse cocktail reception and silent auction. Corporate sponsorships are also available.

The Tony Elliott Foundation is 501c3 nonprofit and 100 percent of all funds collected are disbursed back into the racing community. All proceeds from the golf outing will be used for the foundation’s mission of financially supporting worthy recipients in the racing community.

Warsaw Volleyball Hosting Food Drive Tuesday

The Warsaw volleyball team will be holding a food drive to benefit local animal shelters and food banks Tuesday at the Tiger Den.

Canned food, non-perishable items and monetary donations will be accepted before the non-conference volleyball match with Carroll. The junior varsity will begin play at 6 p.m., with the varsity game following about an hour later.

Lady Vikings Hoops Fundraiser Scheduled For Sept. 26

SILVER LAKE – Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball team will host a fundraiser at The Igloo, 108. W. Main St. in Silver Lake, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 26. The event was originally scheduled for Tuesday.

The business will donate 20 percent of the proceeds to the team.



Homes For Haiti Run Oct. 28

ALBION – The Homes For Haiti Trail Run, featuring a 5K run and 10K walk, will be held Oct. 29 at Bear Lake Camp.

There are five age categories ranging from 19-under to 50-plus. The course is asphalt and dirt, and will end at the Merry Lea Environmental Center.

Registration is $20 and includes a T-shirt if the entry is received by Oct. 15. Race-day registration is available, but the shirt cannot be guaranteed.

Hot Rods In The Badlands Sept. 30

AKRON – The “Hot Rods In The Badlands” car show will be noon-6 p.m. Sept. 30 at Akron Speedway.

Registration fee is $12 with awards in 15 different categories. Judging will be from 1-4 p.m. and prizes awarded at 5 p.m. Vendor space is available.
