FORT WAYNE — Richard T. Wiley, 89, Fort Wayne, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017. 

He was born in Fort Wayne, the son of the late John and Rose Wiley. 

After graduating from high school, Richard proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked in sales and engineering and retired from Whitley Products in 1990. 

Surviving are his wife, Jo Ellen Wiley; children: Mike (Kathy) Wiley, Janet (Tom) Daugherty, Robert Wiley, Lisa Wiley and John (Pam) Wiley; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Steve Biltz, Bruce (Cheryl) Biltz and Linda (Greg) Davis; six stepgrandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. 

Richard was preceded in death by first wife, Marie Wiley; and brothers Don, John and Bobby. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1101 Lafayette St., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. 

Visitation also will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. 

Burial will take place in the Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
