Warsaw Runners Pick Up Wins Over NorthWood, Concord

Lucas Howett won the boys race and Mia Beckham was first in the girls race for Warsaw as the Tiger cross country teams each took a pair of wins over NorthWood and Concord in Northern Lakes Conference racing Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers earned a 23-38 win over Concord and a 22-35 victory over NorthWood. In the boys race, Warsaw won 23-34 over Concord and 17-45 over NorthWood.

Xavi Ramierz was third in the boys race, Taylor Mills fifth, Justin Fleming seventh and Sam Lechlitner ninth for the Tigers. Hunter Thompson was 11th, Eric Williamson 13th, Nathaniel Gottschalk 14th and Jacob Kissling 18th for the Tigers.

Other finishers for Warsaw were Jack Horoho, 22nd; Kennis Dye, 25th; Tanner Stiver, 28th; Ryan Bonebrake, 31st; Austin Fleming, 34th; Nick Bazzoni, 38th; Luke Howard, 39th;  Isaaic Mitchell, 40th; Anthony Bass, 47th; Gary Keyes, 49th; Noah Marshall, 50th; Santos Zamarripa, 54th; Hunter Metzger, 57th; Jacob Denzer, 58th; Ian Peloza, 60th; Andrew Furey, 61st; Jack May, 64th; Ethan Thompson, 65th; Jacob Dachenhaus, 68th; Jorge Alvarez, 70th; Keller Swartzentruber, 75th;  Thane Baker, 78th; Jeremy Campbell,  80th; Timothy Farner, 83rd;  Victor Mejia, 85th; and Alejandro Cervantes, 90th.

Remi Beckham was fifth for the Lady Tigers, with Emma Bohnenkamper sixth, Taylor Gunter eighth, Carmen Yoder 10th, Sierra Palmer 12th and Alex Hermann 13th for Warsaw.

The Tiger boys and girls teams will run in the New Prairie Invitational Saturday, then finish NLC dual competition Tuesday against Wawasee and host Plymouth at Pretty Lake Golf Club.



Wawasee Wins Twice

ELKHART – Both the Wawasee boys and girls cross country teams won their Northern Lakes Conference races by identical 23-32 scores over host Elkhart Memorial Tuesday.

Spencer Hare and Luke Griner finished in a tie for first in 16:33 for Wawasee. Michael Hammer was fifth at 16:58, with Braxton Alexander taking sixth. Jace Alexander was ninth, Bennett Hoffert 12th and Thomas Conley 13th for the Warriors.

Kenzie Miller was second for the Lady Warriors. Caitlin Wortinger finished third, Aubrey Kuhn fifth, Reagan Atwood sixth and Valeria Pizana was seventh.

Wawasee finishes its NLC dual schedule Tuesday against Warsaw and host Plymouth.
