Community Theatre Offers Adult Improv Classes This Fall

Classes will focus on both basic and advanced skills necessary in improv.
Improv is a form of comedic theatre in which participants perform unscripted scenes, such as in the hit show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Improv classes and training are also offered across the country not only to strengthen performers, but to assist in strengthening basic business and job skills to be used in the workplace.
Classes will be offered for eight weeks and will focus on character development, consistency, spontaneity, team-work and world-building so as to build each student in confidence and the understanding of improv. Classes also will focus on the performance of both short-form and long-form improvisation and view improvisation as an artform unto itself.
Members of the Center Street Community Theatre improv house team will instruct the beginner and advanced classes.
Improv classes will run from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts and continue weekly through Nov. 4.
Students must be 18 years or older to enroll and will be required to pay a $20 registration fee upon enrollment.
