Vere Allen Shenefield, 87, Warsaw, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 11, 2017, at his residence. 

On Jan. 20, 1930, he was born in Bremen to Warren Allen and M. Marie Laudeman Shenefield. On Dec. 25, 1962, in Warsaw, he was united in marriage to Ruth Carolyn Robinson, who survives.

He worked for Studebaker Automotive from 1951 to 1953 and then at DePuy in sales and management for 45 years, retiring in 1996. 

He attended church at First United Methodist, Warsaw. He was a member of Gideons International, Pierceton Lions Club and Bremen Masonic Lodge as a 32nd Degree Mason in Scottish Rite.

He proudly served in the United States Army as a SP3(T) from 1955-1961, headquarters – Aus/AGC.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Gay Ann Mullins, Muncie; son, Todd Allen (and spouse Christa) Shenefield, Warsaw; along with grandchildren: Skyler (and spouse Michelle) Shenefield, Warsaw; Blayne Shenefield, Warsaw; and Robinson Mullins, Muncie. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Lyle Shenefield.

Visitation will be at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14. 

A funeral service will be  at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, in First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, with Pastor Mark Need officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
