Day’s Double-Double Leads Lady Tigers To VB Sweep
Senior Alexie Day had 13 kills and 11 aces for Warsaw, and junior Kacy Bragg added nine kills for the Lady Tigers in their 25-18, 25-9, 25-15 non-conference volleyball sweep of East Noble in the Tiger Den Wednesday night.
Erin Peugh had 10 digs in the match, with Betty Barnett and Kennedy Lauck adding three blocks each. Elizabeth Schmidt had three aces in the winning cause.
In the junior varsity match, Gwyn Bellamy had eight kills and four aces in Warsaw’s 25-11, 25-17 win over the Lady Knights. McKenna Hawblitzel had 10 digs for the Lady Tigers.
Next up for Warsaw is a non-conference match at Penn Monday evening.
Triton Falls In HNAC Match
BOURBON – Nicole Sechrist had 13 kills and three solo blocks for Triton in its 25-20, 25-12, 25-23 volleyball loss to Hoosier North Athletic Conference foe North Judson Wednesday in the Trojan Trench.
Hannah Wanemacher had 24 assists and eight digs for the Lady Trojans. Tatum Hargrave had four aces and Sidney Musilli had nine digs in the match.
Triton won the junior varsity match 25-20, 18-25, 15-14 over the Lady Bluejays.
The Lady Trojans are 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the HNAC. They travel to Akron for a non-conference match with Tippecanoe Valley today.
Events Rained Out
One Times-Union area golf match and two boys tennis matches were rained out Wednesday.
Manchester’s golf match with Huntington North will now be a three-team competition with Warsaw today at Norwood Golf Club. First tee is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Both the Squires’ tennis match at Norwell and Warsaw’s match at Homestead were postponed, with make-up dates yet to be determined.
