Jim and Susanne Kessler, Warsaw, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday.

Jim and Susanne were married Sept. 2, 1967, at the Houstonia (Mo.) Community Church by the Rev. Robert L. Kessler.

They both graduated from Grace College, Jim in 1970 and Susanne in 1993.  Immediately thereafter, Jim was drafted and served a tour in the Army during the Vietnam War. After completing his tour of duty, they returned to the University of Missouri, where Jim completed graduate work.

Jim taught and coached in St. Clair, Mo., then returned in 1975 to teach and coach men's basketball at Grace College, where he has served for 43 years and been very active in the local community. Susanne has been employed at the Grace Brethren Investment Foundation for 24 years.

The Kesslers have four daughters: Kim (Chris) Dawson, Sarah (Christian) McCray, Jenny (Jarrod) Lovette and Janelle (Doug) Meyer, all of Warsaw.  They have 14 grandchildren: Lynae, Kyle, Whitney and Wyatt Dawson; Claudia, Kendall, Cohen and Kalli McCray; Jada, Josie, Jelena and Juliana Lovette; and Adalyn and Bryden Meyer. They are all avid Lancer basketball fans and enjoy cheering at their grandpa's games.

Jim and Susanne will celebrate their anniversary with an open house from 3 to 5 p.m.  Sunday at the Russell Center, Winona Lake.
