By Staff Report-

ATWOOD – The Atwood Lions Club is looking to aid people affected by “Hurricane Harvey” during its upcoming fish fry.

The event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Atwood Community Building.

The Lions are asking folks planning to attend to bring an item needed, which are canned nonperishable food, ready-to-eat snacks, tooth brushes, tooth paste, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, baby wipes, rubber gloves, rags, sponges, bleach, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, trash bags, Clorox wipes, buckets and paper towels, diapers of all sizes and baby formula.

These items will then be taken to World Compassion Network in Warsaw for distribution to the flood victims .

The Atwood Lions Club wants to step forward to help, whether it’s situations locally or, in this instance, people in Texas.   Last year the club donated over $10,000, from proceeds from the fish fries, to several school projects in both Warsaw and Mentone, Salvation Army, BackPack Programs, Fellowship Missions, several local families needing help because of severe illnesses, children needing glasses and more.
