Warsaw Golf Splits Closely-Contested NLC Match
Miriam Hagg had a 43 for Warsaw, leading the Lady Tigers to a split in a close Northern Lakes Conference golf match Thursday at Stonehenge. Northridge won with a 180 to Warsaw’s 184 and Concord’s 189.
Delaney Wihebrink turned in a 45 for the Lady Tigers. Grayson Kilburn and Izzy Ray had matching 48s, and Madelyn Ray was at 49.
Northridge’s Braedyn O'Dell was the medalist with a 41.
In junior varsity play, Warsaw picked up a pair of wins with a score of 213, easily beating Concord at 247 and Northridge at 278. Valerie Messmore shot 50 for the Lady Tigers, with Julia Hildebrand and Brooklyn Fitzgerald both at 53, Cassidy Good at 57 and Anna Morgan at 59.
Warsaw finished NLC play at 5-2 and is 12-4 overall. The Lady Tigers will play Manchester at Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester Thursday.
Lady Squires Beat Oak Hill, LCA Sends Two Players
MARION – Samantha Kissell shot a 43 and Lydia Little posted a 44 to lead Manchester to a 177-196 win over host Oak Hill Thursday at Arbor Trace Golf Club.
Kelsey Eichenauer and Madyson Ulrey each shot a 45, with Cora Barnett at 50, Alissa Bickerstaff at 55 and Morgan Stroud at 57 for the Lady Squires.
Lakeland Christian had two players in the match; Abigail Fishel had a 44 and Brianna Smith shot 60.
“It was very windy tonight but the girls hit some great shots and played some solid holes,” Manchester coach Josh Troyer said. “I’m proud of the girls’ focus and determination. It will be good to have a break for the holiday weekend to get rested and prepared for the conference and sectional coming up.”
Manchester remains undefeated in duals at 12-0. They will take on host Huntington North at Norwood Golf Club on Wednesday.
Lady Warriors Down Goshen
SYRACUSE – After Thursday’s 195-240 win over Goshen at Maxwelton Golf Club, Wawasee finished with a 4-3 record in the Northern Lakes Conference.
Belle Brunner led the Lady Warriors with a 46, with Ava Harker and Zoe White each shooting 49. Jadison Rostochak posted a 51 and Tate Cowan a 53.
Wawasee (9-5 overall) will play in the Culver Academies Invitational Saturday.
Triton 2nd In 4-Way Match
STAR CITY – Megan McFarland shot a 48 at Pond View Golf Club to lead Triton to a second-place finish in a four-way girls golf match Thursday. Fairfield won with a 199 to the Lady Trojans’ 204, followed by North Miami at 261. Caston didn’t field a complete team.
Three Lady Trojans, Alysha May, Kate Gardner and Delanie Groves, shot 52. Whytnie Miller posted a 58.
Triton will return to Hoosier North Athletic Conference play Tuesday, playing West Central and host North Judson.
