County Jail Bookings

The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:

• 6 a.m. Friday – Jacob James Lumpkin, 23, Sulphur Springs, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bond: $700.

• 10:16 a.m. Friday – Scarlett Rose Murray, 43, Saint Joe, arrested for failure to comply. Bond: $464.

• 10:57 a.m. Friday – Christopher DeWayne Brickey, 39, Kimmell, arrested for probation violation. Bond: $5,250.

• 3:58 p.m. Friday – Charles David Shepherd Jr., 28, of 8275 E. Ryerson Road, Pierceton, arrested for criminal trespass and on a warrant. Bond: $500.

• 5:01 p.m. Friday – BJ Lawrence Odea, 28, Columbia City, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bond: $700.

• 5:22 p.m. Friday – Shanelle Diane Byrer, 23, of 414A Parker St., Warsaw, arrested for false informing. Bond: $500.

• 5:56 p.m. Friday – Zachary Richard Defries, 28, of 322 E. High St., Atwood, arrested for invasion of privacy and possession of meth. Bond: $6,750.



Personal Injury Accident

• 7:38 p.m. Thursday – Ind. 19, north of West CR 1000N, Nappanee. Tractor-pickup collision. Drivers: Leon E. Miller, 22, Bremen; Michael A. Schmucker, 63, Nappanee. Injuries: Schmucker complained of pain to his leg and foot. Damage: $10,000-$25,000. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.



Property Damage Accidents

• 8:57 a.m. Thursday – Ind. 15, north of CR 300N, Warsaw. Pickup-car collision. Drivers: Brian M. Yoder, 51, Millers Drive, Mentone; Marta Bonilla, 44, Highland Lane, Leesburg. Damage: $750-$1,000. Warsaw Police Department investigated.

• 7:34 a.m. Friday – U.S. 30, east of Center Street, Warsaw. Pickup hit deer. Driver: David N. Kiser, 36, Lilly Court, Warsaw. Damage: $1,000-$2,500. WPD.

• 6:16 a.m. Thursday – A person was stopped for driving while suspended in the 100 block of Main Street, Warsaw. KCSD.

• 12:11 p.m. Thursday – A vehicle was reported stolen in Elkhart County from someone in the 8700 block of West CR 125N, Etna Green. KCSD.

• 4:39 p.m. Thursday – A traffic stop was reported in the 700 block of East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. WPD.

• 8:30 p.m. Thursday – Theft of computer hardware and software was reported from a parking lot in the 300 block of Detroit Street, Warsaw. Value: $670. WPD.

• 12:01 a.m. Friday – Two people were found with marijuana and paraphernalia and arrested in the 1800 block of Hepler Drive, Warsaw. WPD.

• 4:24 a.m. Friday – A man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in the 2400 block of Jalynn Street, Warsaw. WPD.

• 7:31 a.m. Friday – Damage to an air conditioner was reported in the 200 block of Huntington Street, Syracuse. Value: $3,000. Syracuse Police Department investigated.

• 1:09 p.m. Friday – Theft of a trash container was reported in the 300 block of Main Street, Syracuse. Value: $100. SPD.
