LEESBURG – The second-annual Tony Elliott Foundation charity golf scramble was held recently at the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. The event included golf as well as a lunch, cocktail reception and silent auction.

There were a total of 23 foursomes competing for a Warsaw Cut Glass custom trophy and other prizes. The winning four-person team consisted of Murray Bartel, Nick Anglemyer, Mike LaLonde and Dan Conti.

The highlight of the evening was Warrenne Ekins, a former race driver from Australia, who competed with and was a very good friend of Tony Elliott.  He won Tony Elliott's Harley-Davidson in the auction and then donated the motorcycle to Elliott's brother, Jim, in a very touching speech. Jim Elliott and his wife, Suzi, were both in attendance and it was an emotional evening for all those attending.

“We had tremendous participation, great sponsors and hole sponsors along with great auction item donors. This was a great success,” Cindy Elliott said. “Thanks to Tippy, the players, the sponsors and especially all the volunteers that made it happen. Tony Elliott would be very proud."

All proceeds from this annual event will be used for the foundation’s mission of financially supporting worthy recipients in the racing community.

The Tony Elliott Foundation is 501c3 nonprofit and 100 percent of all funds collected are disbursed back into the racing community.

The foundation operates with an all-volunteer staff. A select committee reviews all applications submitted to the foundation.

For more information contact the Tony Elliott Foundation at P.O. Box 806, Winona Lake, IN 46590-0806 or call 260-414-1756.
