SILVER LAKE — Silver Lake Wesleyan Church has welcomed a new couple to lead its ministry.

Duane and Jo Ellen Seitz served the congregration a few months in the preaching/teaching ministry before going full time as a pastoral team.

They were officially introduced to the community in a special appreciation service Sunday.

Duane Seitz has experience as a pastor and church builder, and has helped several churches restart and grow.  He and his wife have served in small churches and in congregations of 900. He also served as speaker for an international Christian radio broadcast.

He has Bachelor of Religion, Master of Religion and Master of Divinity degrees. He has a great love for the Bible: “One of my wonderful privileges and joys is the honor of teaching God’s Word and leading people into the Truth,” he said. “Over my years of ministry, I have witnessed its transforming, life-changing power in the lives of all ages.”

The Seitzes were both born and raised on farms in Kansas. They farmed for 10 years before receiving the call to the ministry.

They have five married children, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, some of whom plan to help in the Silver Lake ministry.
