Triton Spikers Win Sectional Opener

Triton won the first two sets 25-13 and 25-15 before the Lady Satellites won the third set 26-24. The Lady Trojans closed out the match with a hard-fought 27-25 win in the fourth set Tuesday night.
Nichole Sechrist paced the Lady Trojans with 16 kills and three blocks. Hannah Wanemacher had 31 assists, 15 digs and three aces in the match. Charlotte Morris had 11 kills, Sydney Musilli five aces and Alyxa Viers nine digs in the winning effort.
Triton had closed out its regular season with a four-set victory over South Central on Thursday in Union Mills. They were the only two teams in the sectional to reach double-digits in wins this season.
The Lady Trojans (14-16) will now take on host Culver Community (3-23) in the first sectional semifinal at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Two more quarterfinal matches will be played Thursday; South Bend Career Academy takes on LaCrosse (1-19) at 6 p.m. and Oregon-Davis (0-23) faces Argos (3-16) at around 7:30 p.m. The winners of those two matches face one another in the second semifinal at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
The sectional title match is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday.
