SYRACUSE — Lloyd Earl Kammerdiener, 84, Syracuse, passed away at 7:29 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse. 

He was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Goshen, to Volney G. and Hazel M. Lewallen Kammerdiener.

He moved to Syracuse in 1948 from Goshen, and graduated in 1952 from New Paris High School. On Aug. 3, 1963, in Erie, he married Lucille “Lucy” Babcock Miller, who survives. 

He retired on Aug. 12, 2005, from Smoker Craft, New Paris, and was formerly employed at Weatherhead, Syracuse; Switches, Goshen; and Kreuter Manufacturing, New Paris.

He was a member of Syracuse Church of God, where he held many various offices.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Kammerdiener, Syracuse; two daughters, Cathy Marie (Michael) Coy, Syracuse, and Amy Sue (Jon) Lippe, Claypool; six grandchildren: Alissa Hewitt, Cayla Coy, Tiffany (Travis) Goff, Liza Lippe, Madelyn Lippe and Bryce Lippe; four stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; one great-great-stepgranddaughter; and a brother, Ralph (Doris) Kammerdiener, Syracuse.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tonda Kay (Miller) Hewitt; and sister and brother in law, Delores and John Hartzler. 

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the funeral home, with Pastors Stan Owen and Derek Coy officiating. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
