GAS CITY – Manchester carried a 31-21 lead at halftime, but host Mississinewa bounced back in the second half and earned a 64-55 non-conference girls basketball win over the Lady Squires Friday night.

Kennedy Fierstos led the Lady Squires with 16 points, and Eva Bazzoni chipped  in 11 points. Kerigan Hatfield had eight points and a team-high eight rebounds.

“The team played together all game tonight. We were unable to pull through for the win late. I’m so proud of the fight in our team and the support they showed each other,” Manchester coach Jacob Everett said.

In the junior varsity game, Kennidy Lauer scored 17 points and Emma Garriott added 12 points for Manchester in its 39-23 win over Mississinewa. The Lady Squire JV improved to 5-1 for the season.

Manchester (3-3) is right back at it tonight, playing Winamac on the Grace College campus.
