LAPORTE — Billy Eugene Hooper, 67, LaPorte, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017.

Billy was born on Feb. 11, 1950, in Fairfield, Ill., to Norval and Jenny Brock Hooper.

He served his country in the United States Army and he retired as a truck driver for LaPorte Transit, Teamster Union Local 135.

Billy is survived by three daughters: Kimberly (Mark) Tanksley, LaPorte; Jennifer Hooper, LaPorte; and Jamie Hooper, LaPorte; eight grandchildren: Jonathan Tanksley, Justin Tanksley, Jeanette Tanksley, Caleb Hooper, Jocelynn Thieling, Darius Loggins, Annaliese Loggins and Maximus Taylor; three sisters: Zola (Bill) Shott, Lola Brown and Gladys Harkrider; two brothers, John (Rosemary) Hooper and Ivan (Carol) Hooper; and former wife Susan Lindsey.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary McDonald Hooper; two sisters, Wilma Kenshalo and Wanda Williams; and three brothers Jimmy, Delbert and Larry Hooper.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Ave., LaPorte.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home.
