Wawasee Rolls to 10-Point Win Over Lady Lakers
SYRACUSE – Aubrey Kuhn had 14 points and Kabrea Rostochak added 10 for Wawasee in its 53-43 non-conference girls basketball win over Lakeland at the Hardwood Tepee Tuesday night.
The Lady Warriors bolted to a 17-5 lead by the end of the first quarter, and expanded it to 36-22 at the end of the third period.
Seven players scored for Wawasee. Hannah-Marie Lamle and Morgan Adkins scored six points each and Danielle Jenkins contributed five points to the Lady Warrior effort.
Bailey Hartsough led the Lady Lakers with a game-high 21 points.
Lakeland won the junior varsity game 32-16 over Wawasee. Adkins had five points in the game.
Wawasee (3-2) hosts Triton Saturday.

Lady Squires Win Home, Conference Opener
NORTH MANCHESTER – Kennedy Fierstos had 15 points, and Sydney Day added nine points for Manchester in its 47-26 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball win over Maconaquah Tuesday night.
Erika Kendall tossed in six points and Kiera Hatfield five for the Lady Squires in their home opener.
“I was really proud of our defensive intensity tonight. We were able to turn our defense into offense early and push our lead into the second half,” Manchester coach Jacob Everett said. “We had every girl get into the game tonight and make an impact on the contest.”
The Lady Squires won the junior varsity game 37-16 over Maconaquah. Mackenzie Day had eight points and Eva Bazzoni seven in the win.
Manchester improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The Lady Squires will host Mississinewa for a non-conference game Saturday.

BOURBON – Whytnie Miller scored a game-high eight points, Nicole Sechrist had six points and Hannah Wanemacher five for Triton in its 23-20 win over Bremen in a non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday night in the Trojan Trench.
Abigail Powell and Chelsea Johnson had two points each for the Lady Trojans in the matchup of Marshall County teams.
Triton (2-2) plays at Plymouth on Thursday.
Lady ‘Cats Drop TRC Opener
PERU – After forging a 21-all tie at halftime, Whitko coach Rick Bragg said his team “simply ran out of steam,” in its 55-40 loss at Peru in the Three Rivers Conference girls basketball opener for both teams.
"We suffered yet another injury early in the game and played the last 26 minutes with just the five starters,” Bragg said. “The kids never quit hustling or working hard. They are truly giving it everything they have.”
Kayla Schipper had 15 points for Whitko, and Ellie Snep had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Anna Ousley had nine points for the Lady Wildcats.
Whitko (1-4, 0-1 TRC) hosts Huntington North in a non-conference game Friday.
