Veterans Day Ceremonies Planned

Warsaw
American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1126 Veterans Day program will take place at the Center Lake Pavilion.
The event starts at 10:30 a.m. with music by the Kosciusko County Extension Choir. The Armed Forces Medley will start at 10:40 a.m., with the welcome by Post 49 Commander Bruce Knouff at 10:50 a.m.

The Warsaw Junior ROTC will post the colors of the country at 10:55 a.m. After the posting, attendees will be asked to stand if able and face east for the tolling of the bells by Dick Dobbins. Bells also will be tolled at the courthouse by Jeff Rabe.
Chaplain Rev. Roy C. Blake will give the invocation at 11 a.m., followed by Knouff’s remarks. Knouff, a retired U.S. Army serviceman, will also give the 2017 Veterans Day speech.
The names of the local servicemen who have passed away in the past year will be read by American Legion Post 49 Adjutant Mike Davis and VFW Post 1126’s Von A. Frieden.
The Order of Kosciuszko award will be presented by Ken Locke and John Sadler.
After a 21-gun salute and playing of Taps, Blake will give the benediction.
North Webster
American Legion Post 253, North Webster, color guard will have ceremonies at several cemeteries Saturday.
Ceremonies include: 8:30 a.m. at Oswego Cemetery; 9 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery; 9:30 a.m., Salem Cemetery; 10 a.m., at Mock Cemetery; 10:30 a.m. at Post 253; and at 11 a.m. at North Webster Cemetery.
The Legion also will serve free ham and beans and corn bread to all veterans, starting at 11 a.m. at the Legion Post. Ham and beans and corn bread will be served until gone.
