First Baptist To Honor Veterans Sunday

PIERCETON — First Baptist Church of Pierceton will honor U.S. veterans at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

All military veterans in attendance will receive a gift of recognition and thanks for their service to the country. The public is invited to attend.

The church is at 208 W. Market St., Pierceton.



Hoppers At Riverview Church Tonight

TIPPECANOE — The Hoppers, known as “America’s Favorite Family of Gospel Music,” will be at Riverview Community Church tonight.

The Hoppers’ gospel sound has put them on the top of Billboard and Singing News sales charts. Their awards include the Marvin Norcross Award and induction into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

The group is composed of Claude and Connie; their son, Dean, and wife, Kim; son Mike; and granddaughter Karlye.

There is no charge for the concert, but a love offering will be collected.

The church is at 3780 Ind. 110, Tippecanoe.



Day Of Recollection Planned Saturday

Sacred Heart Catholic Church will have a Day of Recollection on Saturday.

The day will begin with Mass at 9 a.m. “Prayer &?Hearing God” will be presented by Stephen Royal from St. John the Evangelist, Goshen. There will also be opportunities for prayer, reflection and small-group discussion.

The Day of Recollection will go until 2:30 p.m. and is open to all. Continental breakfast and a boxed lunch will be provided.

There is no charge for the event. To register, call Sue Armacost at 574-267-5842.



Chili Cookoff Fundraiser Planned Saturday

A chili cookoff fundraiser this weekend will benefit Jamie Mock Dillon, Warsaw.

The fundraiser will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Saturday at God’s Highway to Heaven Church, 555 Webber St., Warsaw. A bake sale and silent auction also are planned.

Cost for the meal is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The meal will include chili, fixings, dessert and a drink. A prize will be awarded for the best chili.

Proceeds will help the single mom, who is unable to work, with her financial needs.



Area Director Of Missions Speaking Sunday

WINONA LAKE — Dr. Dale Woods, area director of Free Methodist missions in the Middle East and North Africa and executive director of Impact Middle East, will be the featured speaker Sunday at Winona Lake Free Methodist Church.

Woods serves an area where the behind-the-scenes events offset the efforts of ISIS. He works with local personnel who minister to refugee groups in Iraq and Jordan, establish schools, and provide encouragement and shelter to victims of intolerance. House churches are being established in Israel and many more events are taking place.

Woods will speak in the 10:30 a.m. worship service and in the more casual Sunday school session that begins at 9:15 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Following the service, church youth will have a free chili cookoff, followed by an auction of homemade sweets.  Proceeds will help with expenses for a mission trip and youth events.

 The church is at 902 College Ave., Winona Lake.  



Etna Church Craft Bazaar Is Saturday

COLUMBIA CITY — Etna Church is having its annual craft bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Over 25 vendors will be at the bazaar. Home-cooked food will be served all day.

Craft venders who want to particpate in the bazaar should call 260-229-8662.

All proceeds from table rentals and food sales goes to the church’s missions outreach.

The church is at 4905 N. CR 550W, Columbia City.



Brunch Honoring Veterans Set For Sunday

NORTH MANCHESTER — Congregational Christian Church will honor veterans and their families with a special 10 a.m. brunch followed by a recognition service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.  

A meal of biscuits and sausage gravy and fruit will be offered free of charge to veterans and their families. Any donations received from the public will go to benefit future Honor Flights to Washington, D.C., for veterans.   

The church is at 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester.  Contact the church office with any questions, 260-982-2882.



Chizum In Concert Sunday At New Harvest

New Harvest Church of the Nazarene will feature song evangelist Dennis Chizum in concert at 10:45 a.m. ?Sunday.

There is no admission charge for the concert, but a voluntary love offering will be collected.

The church is at 1654 Fisher Ave., Warsaw.
