Speed Problem

I live at Warsaw Retirement on Parent Drive (Behind Walmart). This is a senior living community that in my opinion is on a dangerous street. Dangerous because on a street with a 25 miles per hour speed limit, many cars are speeding at least 40 to 50 miles per hour.

There are seniors walking their dogs, taking walks, carrying trash to dumpster, and in the process of these activities, crossing this now busy street.

The only measures I have observed from law enforcement is a drive-through a few times, which in my opinion is of no value in the solution of our speeding problem.

I would like to make the following suggestions:

1. Place a plain car on our block with a radar gun to check speeding cars between 6 to 9 a.m. (going to work traffic) and again late afternoon traffic (returning from work traffic).

2. Place the trailer speed checking unit on Parent Drive.

3. Place a new speed limit sign at north end of Warsaw Retirement Community (by big building).

These suggestions seem rather drastic measures, but I feel we are in the midst of a drastic problem. I would hate to see someone injured or worse yet killed because we said nothing or did nothing at all.
