MENTONE — Richard K. Holloway, 77, rural Rochester, died at 7:05 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at his residence after being in failing health for seven years.

He was born July 11, 1939, in Fulton County, to Omer Jack and Hazel Tilden Holloway. He married Laura Belle Wilson on Feb. 21, 1959, in Fulton; she preceded on Jan. 7, 2004. He married Terie Vigar on June 28, 2012, in Rochester. She survives.

Richard farmed, was a timber buyer, and also owned and operated his own sawmill for many years in Talma. He retired from Holmes & Com., Columbia City.

He was a member of the former Athens United Methodist Church and also had attended Bethlehem Baptist Church. He enjoyed all kinds of woodworking and could make anything. He also loved mowing grass and watching birds.

Survivors include his wife, Terie Holloway, Rochester; son, Richard L. (wife Lorna) Holloway, Rochester; stepdaughters: Katina Davis, Peru; Lisa Hernandez, Tippecanoe; Amanda (husband Chris) Clabaugh, Pierceton; and Jessica Davis and Michael Crum, Mentone; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Carole Feltis, Rochester; and a brother, Marion (wife Pauline) Holloway, Rochester. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura Belle Wilson Holloway; son, Christopher Holloway; brother, Kenneth E. Holloway; and infant sister, Vivian Holloway.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Wanda Carter officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at King Memorial Home.
