Patona Bay Lakeside Services Begin Sunday

LEESBURG — Leesburg United Methodist Church will begin its 2017 lakeside season Sunday.

Lakeside services will be at 8:30 a.m. every Sunday through Sept. 3 at Patona Bay on Tippecanoe Lake. Pastor Rob will give the message each week from the pontoon on the lake.

The church is planning a full lineup of guest musicians each Sunday. This week’s service will have Abby Archer and Andrew Tomasik.  Andrew is a junior at Ball State University majoring in music composition. He will play taps in honor of Memorial Day.

Guests may come by boat and anchor in front of Patona Bay or bring a chair and join the service on land.

The church also offers services at 9:15 a.m. every Sunday at its facility at 111 W. Prairie St.

Lunch Special June 3 At Mentone Egg Fest

MENTONE — Mentone United Methodist Church will be serving a lunch special during the Egg Festival.

The meal, which is $5, will be June 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m or until sold out. It will include a barbecue pulled pork sandwich, carrot and celery sticks, chips, a cookie, and water or soda. Visitors may dine in the tent, or carryout will be available.

Proceeds will go to outreach mission projects.



VBS June 19-23 At The Country Church

BOURBON — The Country Church will be “Geared Up for God” during Vacation Bible School this year.

VBS will be from 1-3 p.m. June 19-23. All kids entering preschool to fifth grade are welcome.

Beaver Dam UMC Begins Summer Schedule

AKRON — Beaver Dam United Methodist Church will begin its summer worship schedule Sunday.  

The lakeside service will be from 8-8:30 a.m. Coffee fellowship at the church will be from 9-9:30, and the church worship service will begin at 9:30. All are welcome.

The church is at 9798 W. CR 1000, Akron.



Inside Sale Planned At Highway To Heaven

God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw, is planning an inside sale and some individual sales today through Saturday.

Hours for the sale are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Food will also be sold.

Anyone who has good clean items to donate to the sale may call Judy at 574-267-4061.

Warsaw Ends Regular Season With Comeback Win Against Valley
The latest edition of what is undoubtedly the biggest cross-county rivalry was doozy.
