WATERFORD MILLS – After leading 7-3 heading in to the bottom of the fifth inning, Triton fell 9-8 to Lakewood Park Christian in the 1A Bethany Christian Softball Sectional Tuesday evening.
The Lady Trojans gave up two runs in the bottom of the fifth and four in the home half of the sixth. Triton rallied for a run in its last at-bat, and left the bases loaded at game’s end.
Taytum Hargrave had a triple among her three hits, and Courtney Jennings scored three times with two hits and a walk. Nichole Sechrist had two hits and scored twice for Triton.
Triton finished its season with a 14-9 record.
Valley Downs Winamac
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley closed out its regular season with a 15-2 non-conference win over visiting Winamac Tuesday.
Details of the game were not available as of press time.
Valley (9-10) opens play at the 3A NorthWood Sectional at 5 p.m. today against West Noble.
