Trump Not Sinister, But Rich Murder Might Be

I get that the media is out to get him. He gets that, too, because he says it all the time. But can someone explain to me why he doesn’t adjust his behavior?
I know why.
It’s because he’s Donald Trump.
He’s not a politician. He’s used to having things his way. If he showed up at a golf course or skyscraper construction site and he wanted something changed, he got it changed – then and there.
So, of course, when he meets with the Russian guys he brags about “having great intelligence.” Of course, when he meets with the FBI director he says, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go." And, "He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go."
That’s kind of why he got elected, isn’t it? As the unfiltered anti-politician?
Is the president boorish? You bet. Is he arrogant? Sure. Is he narcissistic? Uh-huh. Is he capable of serious diplomatic blunders? Absolutely.
But is he a sinister character who deserves to be impeached for attempting to destroy our Democracy from within? I don’t think so.
No more than President Barack Obama was an Alinsky adherent who deserved to be impeached for attempting to convert the U.S. to a socialist country.
People on the right and the left need to get a grip.
And now, for some news that could turn out to be sinister. Remember the Democratic National Committee staffer who was gunned down in Washington D.C. last July?
His name was Seth Rich.
Conspiracy theories are raging online about Rich’s death because he was a Voter Expansion Data Director for the Democratic National Committee, which gave him access to lots of DNC data. And also because of the lack of a motive, eyewitnesses or suspects in the case, which remains unsolved.
Rich was shot on the street July 10 at 4:15 a.m. in near his home in northwest Washington, D.C.’s Bloomingdale neighborhood.
The Washington Post reported at least one of the multiple gunshot wounds Rich suffered was in the back.
At a news conference after the shooting, D.C. homicide police said that all motives were being considered, and “There is no immediate indication that robbery was a motive in the attack.”
That’s because the victim still had his wallet, credit cards and watch.
Fanning the flames of conspiracy theorists was a report this week by Fox News 5 in Washington, D.C.
A private investigator named Rod Wheeler went on record saying there is evidence that Rich was in contact with WikiLeaks in the weeks before his death.
Wheeler is a retired Washington homicide detective who was hired by a third party to investigate the case on behalf of the Rich family.
Wheeler’s WikiLeaks claim regarding Rich was reportedly corroborated by a federal investigator who spoke to Fox News.
“My investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks,” Wheeler told Fox.
The revelation this week doesn’t jibe very well with what the D.C. metro police were saying last August:
“At this time, there is no indication that Seth Rich’s death is connected to his employment at the DNC,” police said.
And Rich’s family isn’t too happy about Wheeler’s findings either.
A family spokesman told Fox that Wheeler wasn’t authorized to speak for the family and called assertions that Rich sent emails to WikiLeaks “unsubstantiated.”
The spokesman, Brad Bauman, told Fox:
"Even if tomorrow, an email was found, it is not a high enough bar of evidence to prove any interactions as emails can be altered and we've seen that those interested in pushing conspiracies will stop at nothing to do so. We are a family who is committed to facts, not fake evidence that surfaces every few months to fill the void and distract law enforcement and the general public from finding Seth's murderers."
But the unnamed FBI?investigator told Fox a scan of Rich’s computer after his murder showed he made contact with Gavin MacFadyen.
MacFadyen was closely linked to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and formed the official Julian Assange Defense Committee, which raises funds to pay the legal expenses of Assange and other WikiLeaks staff. He served as a director for WikiLeaks.
MacFadyen died of lung cancer in October at the age of 76. He was living in London at the time of his death.
The FBI investigator told Fox, “I have seen and read the emails between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks.” He said the emails are in the possession of the FBI.
Wheeler told Fox, “I do believe that the answers to who murdered Seth Rich sits on his computer on a shelf at the D.C. police or FBI headquarters.”
The anonymous federal investigator claims 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments between Democratic National Committee leaders, spanning from January 2015 through late May 2016, were transferred from Rich to MacFadyen before May 21.
WikiLeaks published internal DNC emails on July 22. Those emails purported to show how top Democratic party officials conspired to thwart U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton.
The email dump came 12 days after Rich was killed.
In December, a WikiLeaks envoy made news when he told the U.K.’s Daily Mail that he personally received Clinton campaign emails in Washington, D.C., after they were leaked by “disgusted” whistleblowers.

Craig Murray is a former British ambassador to Uzbekistan and a close associate of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. He told Dailymail.com that he flew to Washington, D.C., for a clandestine hand-off with one of the email sources in September.
“Neither of [the leaks] came from the Russians,” said Murray in an interview with Dailymail.com. “The source had legal access to the information. The documents came from inside leaks, not hacks.”
WikiLeaks has repeatedly denied – at least a half dozen times – that Russia was the source of the DNC emails. Last August, the organization announced, “WikiLeaks has decided to issue a U.S. $20k reward for information leading to conviction for the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich.”
So is this private investigator just making stuff up? Is the anonymous federal investigator making stuff up? Does the FBI really have Rich’s laptop with evidence that he sent emails to WikiLeaks? Are all these connections just coincidence? Is this all fake news?
Who knows? And you won’t find out from the national media.
That’s the sad part of all this. It would seem to me that there should be a way to get at the truth.
If the WikiLeaks dump of DNC emails came from a disgruntled staffer and not the Russians, Americans deserve to know it.
