LEESBURG – The Motorboats & Merlot Boat Show, hosted by Pro Wake Watersports, is from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Tippy Creek Winery near Tippecanoe Lake.

Enjoy live music by The Stoned Bluez Band, local wine, 2017 boats and the Big Apple Pizza food truck all day long. The first 50 people will receive free wine tastings. Admission is $1, and all proceeds will go to The Watershed Foundation.

Pro Wake Watersports is also offering one-hour boat rides around Lake Tippecanoe free of charge. Participants are invited to purchase wine from the winery to bring with them during their tour. Shuttle service will be provided from the winery to the launch site.

Reserve a spot by calling TWF at 574-834-3242 or visiting The Watershed Foundation’s Facebook.

Friday, there will be an evening 5K run, including a glass of wine or wine slushie, a souvenir wine glass, age group and overall awards and live entertainment. Enter the competition by contacting [email protected].

JB's food truck will be serving up some food and there will be plenty of wine for purchase to cheer on the runners.

The Watershed Foundation was founded in 1997 to protect and improve water quality in the upper Tippecanoe River watershed, spanning from Crooked Lake in Whitley County to the Warsaw-Winona area. Over the past 20 years, TWF has worked with farmers and lake residents to implement over 200 water quality improvement projects. In the last three years alone, these efforts have prevented over 556 million pounds of weeds and algae from growing in area lakes and streams, according to a news release from TWF.
