Manchester’s Bedke Wins 1,600 And 3,200 At Rochester Sectional
ROCHESTER – Manchester’s Rae Bedke won the 1,600-meter and 3,200 races at the Rochester Girls Track Sectional Tuesday night.
Culver Academies won the team title, beating Plymouth. Manchester was fifth, Triton finished seventh, Whitko eighth and Tippecanoe Valley 10th.
Bedke ran the 1,600 in 5:25.82, about nine seconds faster than her nearest competitor, Culver Academies’ Marissa Rivera. The Lady Squire then won the 3,200 in 11:59.49, about eight seconds faster than Rochester’s Kelsey Tyler.
Other Manchester qualifiers for the regional were Tahnee Fuentes, who finished second in the 100 and Bailey Sewell, who took third in the discus. The Lady Squire 4x800 relay team of Sydney Diefenbaugh, Clara Burdette, Maddy Evans and Jaelyn Webb qualified for the regional with a third-place finish.
Suzanne Sickafoose won the 200 for Whitko, and finished second in the 400. Lyndsay Sapp was third in the shot put.
Tippecanoe Valley’s Sarah Tucker advanced to the regional by virtue of her third-place finish in the 100, and Triton’s 4x100 relay team of Brianna Wilhite, Baylee McIntire, Abigail Powell and Mariah Musilli finished second to qualify for the regional.
The regional will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday at South Bend’s St. Joseph High School.

Tigers Remain Perfect
Warsaw’s boys golf team remained unbeaten in dual play with a 156-171 win over visiting NorthWood at Stonehenge Golf Club Tuesday.
Luke Delp paced the Tigers with a 37, with Tim Rata at 38 and Sam Yeager at 39. Tommy Meier posted a 42 and Luke Johnson a 43 for Warsaw.
The Tiger junior varsity won 178-202 over the Panthers. They were led by Cole Voss who shot a 41, followed closely by Chase Byron with a 42. Zach LaLonde shot 45 and Lucas Rhodes and Noah Pequignot came in with each shooting 50.
Warsaw (8-0, 5-0 NLC) plays a three-way match against concord and host Northridge at Meadow Valley in Middlebury Thursday.
Lady Tigers Roar Back, Beat Central
Warsaw scored all nine of its runs in the fifth and sixth innings, coming from behind for a 9-4 non-conference softball win over visiting Elkhart Central Tuesday.
Isabelle Ditman had a triple, with Abby Glass and Saylor Bradley each adding a double to Warsaw’s 15-hit attack. Courtney Chookie added a pair of singles at the plate.
After Chookie and Warsaw gave up three runs in the first inning, the Lady Tiger hurler settled in and struck out six Lady Blazer batters.
Warsaw closes out Northern Lakes Conference play Thursday, hosting Elkhart Memorial.
Wawasee Golf Splits
SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s boys golf team earned a split of its Northern Lakes Conference matches Tuesday at South Shore Golf Club. The Warriors’ score of 186 was short of Concord’s 170 and better than Elkhart Memorial’s 200.
Zach Leedy earned medalist honors for the Warriors with a 40, one shot better than Concord’s Brendan Green. Dillon Drake shot a 46, Jared Krugman a 47, Kobe Jones a 53 and Cameron Brill a 54.
Wawasee (6-6, 2-3 NLC) has a conference dual with Plymouth and NorthWood at Nappanee’s McCormick Creek Golf Course Thursday.
Vikings Split TRC Golf Matches
WABASH – Jeremy Julian posted a 39 to lead Tippecanoe Valley to a Three Rivers Conference boys golf split Tuesday at Honeywell Golf Club. Northfield had a 174 to beat Valley’s 179, with Wabash coming in at 200.
Cade Brouyette had a 44 for the Vikings, with Chris Schipper shooting a 46. Noah Hoffman and John Young had a 50 and 51, respectively, for Valley.
Wyatt Hall led the Viking junior varsity with a 49, followed by Austin Crill and Bryce Madeford each at 62. Bryston Canada posted a 67 and Billy Gillman an 83.
Now 7-3 overall, Valley will take on Manchester and Whitko at Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester Thursday.
Squires Roll To Win
DENVER – Harley Kruschwitz shot a 37 to lead Manchester to a 179-209 Three Rivers Conference boys golf win over North Miami Tuesday.
Nathan Self and Parker Wagoner had 43s for the Squires. Clayton Hendrix shot a 56, Logan Parrett a 57 and Konrad Borgmann a 59 for Manchester.
The Squires will host Whitko and Tippecanoe Valley at Sycamore Golf club Thursday.
Lady Trojans Rout Glenn
BOURBON – Triton scored 12 runs in the first inning, and 10 more runs over the next two frames in a 22-4 non-conference softball blowout of visiting John Glenn Tuesday.
Nichole Sechrist had a home run, a triple and drove in six runs for Triton. Whytnie Miller had a triple, a double and four runs batted in and Courtney Jennings tripled twice for the Lady Trojans. Taytum Hargrave had four hits, including a double, scored four times and had three RBIs.
Hannah Woodard and Sechrist split duties in the pitchers’ circle, striking out six batters between them.
Triton opens play in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament against visiting West Central Friday.
