Triton Baseball Rolls Over North Judson 14-6 In HNAC Play

NORTH JUDSON – Triton scored early and often, plating runs in every inning but the second in a 14-6 Hoosier North Athletic Conference baseball win over host North Judson Monday.

Dylan Hensley homered, singled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the Trojans. Ryan Kaufman singled twice and drove in a run for Triton.

Connor Pitney was the winning pitcher, going four innings and striking out four. Kaufman got the three-inning save without allowing a run.

Next up for Triton (12-7, 9-5 HNAC) is a pair of HNAC  games with Culver Community. Thursday’s game is at Triton and Friday‘s in Culver.



Triton Rolls Riley

BOURBON – Triton swept the doubles matches and won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to beat South Bend Riley 4-1 in a non-conference girls tennis match Monday.

Kolbie Mason and Quinn Downing concluded their regular seasons with straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

Emma Ross and Hannah Wanemacher rolled to a win without dropping a game at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Siera Sauer and Kaylene Slabaugh won two close sets.

Senior Conner Sherwin played her first varsity match  on Senior Night, and dropped a third-set tiebreaker to Riley’s Ruby Atkins.

Triton also won five of six junior varsity matches.

Triton takes a 7-4 record into the Bremen Sectional and plays the host Lady Lions Thursday.

Lady Trojans Fall

ROYAL CENTER – Pioneer scored late in the game to beat visiting Triton 7-5 in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference softball game Monday.

The Lady Trojans host John Glenn in a non-conference contest today.



Tigers Blank Concord

DUNLAP – Pitching to contact, Warsaw’s Jordan Jones blanked Concord on eight hits in the Tigers’ 5-0 Northern Lakes Conference baseball win Monday.

Warsaw scored three runs in the first two innings after scoring just one run in two games Saturday. Luke Baker doubled in the contest, and Liam Patton had two singles for the Tigers.

In the junior varsity game, Mason Reber was the winning pitcher in Warsaw’s 4-3 win over the Minutemen. Jacob Lucus, Aric Krallman and Ian Glogovsky had two hits each for the Tigers.

Warsaw (7-16, 4-9 NLC) will play a non-conference game Wednesday, hosting Mishawaka.



Lady Tigers Fall

DUNLAP – Warsaw was held to four hits in a 9-1 Northern Lakes Conference softball loss to host Concord Monday.

Saylor Bradley doubled for the Lady Tigers’ only extra-base hit.

The Lady Tigers host Elkhart Memorial in a non-conferrence tilt today.



RedHawks Down Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Despite scoring eight runs in the first two innings, Wawasee fell to Goshen 15-9 in Northern Lakes Conference baseball Monday.

Gavin Barker doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Wawasee.

Wawasee (9-14, 5-8 NLC) hosts Fairfield for a non-conference game today.

The Warriors won the junior varsity game 3-2 over Goshen.



Whitko Shuts Out Tigers In TRC Play

PERU – Anna Ousley tripled and singled, and Andrea Snavely doubled for Whitko in its 6-0 Three Rivers Conference win at Peru Monday evening.

Ellie Snep was the winning pitcher, striking out seven while issuing two walks. Kennedy Krull also doubled in the game.

The Lady Wildcats travel to Denver to take on North Miami in a TRC game Wednesday.



Squires Blank Norse

WABASH – Manchester’s Hayes Sturtsman tossed a complete-game shutout, helping the Squires beat Northfield 5-0 in a Three Rivers Conference baseball game Monday.

Hunter Boughman had a solo home run, and Noah Beck added two hits for the Squires.

Now 12-9 overall and 5-3 in the TRC, Manchester will host Manconaquah in a conference game Wednesday.



Lady Squires Win Over Southwood

NORTH MANCHESTER – Winning each match in straight sets, Manchester’s girls tennis team beat Southwood 5-0 and clinched a share of the Three Rivers Conference title.

Karly and Kelsey Eichenauer won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, while Leiah Brandenburg won at No. 3 singles. Bethany Collette and Lauren Metzger teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles, and Kendra Auler and Lydia Little won at No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Squires won seven of 10 matches in the last junior varsity competition of the season. Cora Barnett, Lindsay Rice and Emily Ogden won in singles play. Elizabeth Anguilm and Lotte van der Ven won at No. 1 doubles, Halie Wampler and Morgan Stroud at No. 2 doubles, Brylee Kerr and Lea Ellenrieder at No. 3 doubles and Anna Pyle and Sarah Metzger at No. 4 doubles.

Manchester opens sectional play at Peru Wednesday against Wabash.



Lady Squires Win

WABASH – Mattie McKee struck out nine Northfield hitters in seven innings, and Kiera Stacy had three hits for Manchester in its 6-2 Three Rivers Conference softball win over the Lady Norse Monday.

Cierra Carter drove in two runs for the Lady Squires, with McKee and Kennedy Fierstos collecting one RBI each. Brooklyn Hoard and Carter had two hits each for Manchester (18-2, 8-0 TRC).

The victory gave Manchester at least a share of the TRC title. The Lady Squires will attempt to complete its perfect conference season at home against Maconaquah Wednesday.



Lady Vikes Win

ROCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the second inning and two more in the fourth, beating Rochester 8-4 in a Three Rivers Conference softball game Monday.

Sydney Howard and Abby Betten scored two runs each for Valley. Kayla Scott had two hits and three RBIs in the win.

Howard was the winning pitcher, scattering eight hits, striking out two and walking none.

The Lady Vikings travel to Peru for a conference game Wednesday.



Viking Baseball Doubles Up Zebras

ROCHESTER – Lucas Walters had a two-run single in Tippecanoe Valley’s five-run seventh inning, taking the Vikings past host Rochester 10-5 in Three Rivers Conference baseball play Monday.

Adam Meyers had a two-out, three-run double in the fifth inning for Valley, who entered the inning trailing the Zebras 3-1. Alec Craig scored on a wild pitch for the Vikings’ first run.

Valley play at Peru in a conference game Wednesday.



Valley Tennis Falls

AKRON – Visiting Northfield scored a 4-1 Three Rivers Conference girls tennis win over Tippecanoe Valley Monday. The loss closed out Valley’s regular season.

The Lady Norse junior varsity won four of five matches.

Valley will play host Warsaw in a sectional semifinal on Thursday.
