Valley’s Julian Wins TRC Tourney; Manchester Takes Thir
Tippecanoe Valley’s Jeremy Julian was the medalist at the Three Rivers Conference Boys Golf Tournament Saturday at Rozella Ford Golf Club. Manchester tied for second in the team standings with Peru at 332, three shots behind three-time champion Northfield.Valley finished sixth in the standings, and Whitko seventh.
Julian’s 73 was two shots better than Jakob Taylor of Maconaquah, with Kameron Cole of Northfield the only other player to break 80, checking in with a 78.
Parker Wagoner and Nathan Self each shot 81 for Manchester, with Harley Kruschwitz coming in at 83.
Kaleb Busz shot an 87 for Whitko, with Cade Bechtold at 91 and Tim Gensch at 92.

Tigers 2nd At Mystic Hills
CULVER – Warsaw’s golf team finished second to the host Culver Academies in its invitational boys golf tournament Saturday at Mystic Hills. Warsaw finished at 312, Triton was sixth at 333 and Wawasee was 13th at 358.
Tim Rata and Sam Yeager tied for fourth at 78 for Warsaw, and Luke Johnson was in a three-way tie for eighth at 81.
Zach Leedy paced the Warriors with an 86, and Evan Dippon had a 93. No Triton scores were available as of press time.
Warsaw will host NorthWood at Stonehenge, while Wawasee hosts Concord and Elkhart Memorial at South Shore, both in Northern Lakes Conference competition on Tuesday. Triton will play in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Valley Wins BB Tourney
CULVER – Tippecanoe Valley won the Culver Academies baseball tournament Saturday with a 7-4 win over Westview and an 8-5 win over the host Eagles for the title.
Alec Craig was the winning pitcher in the semifinal win over the Warriors, throwing a complete game and giving up seven singles and striking out six. Russ Paxton and Wes Melanson had multiple-hit games for the Vikings.
In the title game, Culver Academies led 4-0 before the Vikings came to bat, but Valley had tied the game by the end of the third inning. A four-run sixth inning earned Valley the title.
The Vikings travel to Three Rivers Conference rival Rochester today.
Squires Earn BB Split
NORTH MANCHESTER – David McAtee’s bases-loaded triple led Manchester to 7-5 win over visiting Blackford and a baseball doubleheader split Saturday. The Squires fell 2-1 in the first game.
McAtee had three hits in the second game, and Hayes Sturtsman added two hits.
In the opener, the Bruins pushed across two runs in the sixth to win the pitchers’ duel. Manchester was held to two hits in the first game.
Now 11-9 overall, Manchester returns to Three Rivers Conference play today at Northfield.
Chargers Down Warriors
LIGONIER – Gavin Barker singled twice and drove in a pair of runs, and Jairus Boyer had a double among his two hits in a 6-5 non-conference baseball loss at West Noble Saturday.
The Chargers led 6-2 after four innings. Wawasee scored twice in the fifth, and a seventh-inning rally left the Warriors a run short. Five errors hurt the Warrior cause.
Now 9-13 overall, Wawasee will host Northern Lakes Conference foe Goshen at 5 p.m. today.
Tigers Quiet In DH Loss
HUNTERTOWN – Warsaw continued its recent scoring woes in a baseball doubleheader loss at Carroll Saturday, falling 11-1 in the opening game and 10-0 in the second contest.
Collin Marshall had two hits for Warsaw in the first game, and Jordan Steffensmeier had a double in the game two.
The Tigers resume Northern Lakes Conference play at Concord today.
Lady Tigers 2nd In Tourney
Warsaw won its first game in the Lady Tiger Invitational Saturday, 17-2 over Fort Wayne Wayne, before falling 6-1 to Homestead in the title game
Abby Glass tossed a one-hitter in Warsaw’s semifinal win. Saylor Bradley had four hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Shannon Randels had a double among her three hits. Carmen Albertson and Lauren Shaffner drove in two runs each for Warsaw.
Glass added three hits in the title game for the Lady Tigers. Homestead led 6-0 after its half of the fourth inning, and Warsaw couldn’t recover.
The Lady Tigers resume Northern Lakes Conference play today at Concord. The game was originally set for Warsaw, but the teams traded sites in NLC play during the fire at the Elkhart County Landfill late last month.
Whitko Beats Heritage
SOUTH WHITLEY – Anna Ousley, Ellie Snep and Shianna Bradley al had extra-base hits in Whitko’s 7-4 non-conference softball win over visiting Heritage Saturday.
Snep tripled, while Bradley and Ousley had doubles in the game.
Whitko plays a Three Rivers Conference game at Peru today.
