County Jail Bookings

 The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail.

• 2:17 a.m. Thursday – Jose Ortiz, 45, South Bend, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bond: $700.

• 10:28 a.m. Thursday – Kimbert Alvin Crafton, 21, of 205 Stonewall Court, #3, Nappanee, arrested for corrupt business influence, resisting law enforcement using a vehicle and reckless driving. Bond: $15,500.

• 7 p.m. Thursday – Angel Christina Carpenter, 35, of 724 E. Center St., Warsaw, arrested for disorderly conduct and intimidation. Bond: $600. 

• 11:27 p.m. Thursday – Timothy David Marsillett, 26, of 111 E. County Line Road, Syracuse, arrested for failure to appear. No bond set.



Personal Injury Accident 

• 9:03 p.m. Thursday – Intersection of Anchorage Road and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: David Miller, 24, Middlebury; Dan Robinson, 68, Deer Trail, Warsaw. Injuries: Miller  complained of pain to his head; Joanna Miller, 23, Middlebury, a passenger in Miller’s vehicle, complained of pain to her. Damage: $25,000 to $50,000.  Warsaw Police Department investigated.



Property Damage Accident

• 10:27 a.m. Thursday – Intersection of North Detroit Avenue and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Car hit guardrail. Driver: Barbara Wilson, 68, CR 200N, Warsaw. Damage: $2,500 to $5,000. WPD.



Incidents 

• 4:18 p.m. Thursday – A person   reported a theft at Zales Drug Store in the 1700 block of East Center Street, Warsaw. WPD. 

• 6:01 p.m. Thursday – A person was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 700 block of East Center Street, Warsaw. WPD.

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.
