Trojans Down Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – A six-run sixth inning propelled Triton to a 12-5 win over host Whitko in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday.

Thanks to seven Wildcat errors, the Trojans won the game despite being held to three singles and a double in the game. Nate Flenar, Dylan Hensley and Zac Pitney had two RBIs each for Triton.

Alex Bechtold had three hits for Whitko and Drew Bradford drove in a pair of runs.

Triton will travel to Bethany Christian on Thursday, and Whitko travels to Rochester today for a Three Rivers Conference game.



Lady Squires Edge Whitko

NORTH MANCHESTER – Karly Eichenauer won at No. 1 singles, and Manchester swept the two doubles matches to earn a 3-2 Three Rivers Conference girls tennis win Tuesday.

Eichenauer needed three sets to beat Morgan Keirn. Lauren Metzger and Rebekah Pyle came back from a set down to beat Whitko’s Jenna VanCuren and Manon Sonneville at No. 2 doubles. Kendra Auler and Lydia Little won in straight sets at No. 1 doubles.

Delaney Keirn won in straight sets at No. 2 singles for the Lady Wildcats, and Jackie Werstler needed a first-set tiebreaker to win at No. 3 singles.

Manchester hosts Peru in TRC play Wednesday. Whitko will host Peru Thursday.



Lady Bruins Down Valley

WATERFORD MILLS – Bethany Christian’s girls tennis team beat Tippecanoe Valley 5-0 in a non-conference match Tuesday.

The Lady Vikings return to Three Rivers Conference play Thursday at Southwood.
