Monte L. Florey, 70, passed away at 7:18 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw. 

Monte was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Rochester, to Charles and Geneva Madeford Florey. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1966.

On June 19, 1994, he was married to Mary Drudge Randall in Warsaw. She survives after sharing 22 years together.

Having spent most of his lifetime in Kosciusko County, Monte was employed by DePuy as a polisher for 40 years. He retired in 2009. He was a faithful member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.

Those who survive include his wife, Mary; daughter, Michelle (Randy) Hektor, Mentone; son, Darrell (Michelle) Florey, Walkerton; stepdaughter, Shanna Randall, Warsaw; two stepsons, Eric Randall, Warsaw, and Huntter Randall, Warsaw; sister, Dixie Goodrich, South Whitley; six grandchildren: Richelle Amburgy, Tyler Yates, Trenton Hektor, Dylan Florey, Kaylee Florey and Monica Hatfield; and four stepgrandchildren: Danielle Randall, Christopher Cook, Devynn Cook and Eric Cress.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Heather Anne Florey; brothers, Leo and Larry Florey; and a sister, Janice Parson.

The family will receive friends in a time of visitation from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. 

A funeral service celebrating Monte’s life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Pastor Jarod Osborne of Warsaw Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
