Kate Whitehead and Dan Martinek, both of Chicago, have announced their engagement.

Kate is the daughter of Tom and Janie Whitehead, Warsaw.

She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 2008; from Ball State University, Muncie, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2012; and earned her master’s degree in applied behavior analysis from Ball State in 2013.

She is employed with EB Pediatrics, Chicago.

Dan is the son of Greg and Jocelyn Martinek, Brook-field, Wis.

He graduated from Brookfield East High School in 2007 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business in 2012 from University of  Wisconsin-Madison.

He is a senior client sales manager with Echo Global Logistics, Chicago.

The couple’s wedding is planned for July 15, 2017, in Chicago.
